Husqvarna may produce two-cylinder versions of the Vitpilen and Svartpilen motorbikes

The Vitpilen and Svartpilen city bikes produced under the Swedish Husqvarna brand could get an unusual version in 2021. “The Black Arrow and White Arrow, according to some sources, are planned to be equipped with twin-cylinder engines.

Ride Apart experts remind that Svartpilen and Vitpilen ranges – from 125 models designed for beginners to big and heavy 701 – are equipped with single-cylinder engines. Swedish 501-series motorbikes may soon get a parallel twin-cylinder engine from the new KTM 490 platform.

The Swedish brand is owned by an Austrian company, which in turn is owned by Indian giant Bajaj Auto. The KTM 490 will be produced at a new plant in Pune, India along with the new Triumph compact and mid-size motorbikes.

Experts expect that a number of models under the Austrian brand will be released on the KTM 490 platform. In the near future KTM can present 490 Duke, 490 Adventure and sportbike RC 490.

Husqvarna previously introduced a beginner model. The 125 Svartpilen, according to experts, can be a good choice for those who are just starting to ride a motorbike. It has good enough performance and equipment for its role.
